Special Things For Special Kids (Visit The STFSK website)
In March 2002, Smoky Hill Rotary Club introduced this initiative, which combines various youth programs, such as Hand-in-Hand, Book Bags, other literacy programs, and Adopt-a-Classroom. This initiative is intended to increase awareness in the community for the Service Above Self by the men and women of the Smoky Hill Rotary Club and Foundation.

With more than 20 Eagle Scouts, Troop 641 has an active program with many high adventure outings for Scouts between the age of 11 and 18. Many of the Rotarians in Smoky Hill Rotary Club are Eagle Scouts.

Each year SHRC, in conjunction with Troop 641, sponsors a Valentine Party for the residents of the Cherry Creek Nursing Home. The scouts earn service hours toward their leadership advancement requirements, while the residents have a fun day at a time when few other activities are taking place. SHRC provides funding for the carnations presented to each resident, along with cake and other party needs
